Early red chicory

Appearance: Voluminous, extended, well closed head with a reasonable portion of root.

Colour: leaves characterised by a main particularly marked white venation that spreads out in many small pen-venations in the intense red particularly developed leaf-blade. 

Taste: leaves having a somewhat bitter taste and middle crackling with regards to the compactness. 

The marketing characteristics of the early red chicory are:
Perfect ripening level 
Brilliant red colouring of the leaf-blade interrupted by thin white venations
Good compactness of the head
Medium-large size
Uniformity in the size of the heads 
Main root proportionate and never longer than 4 cm.
